Supreme Court Approved Arbitration Training Program -
February 28, 2021
This 4-hour arbitration training program is approved by the Florida Supreme Court and meets the requirements for training set forth in Florida Statute 44.106 and Rule 11.020 of the Florida Rules for Court-Appointed Arbitrators. This training course will cover the requirements for serving as an arbitrator in binding and non-binding arbitration proceedings. The arbitration training program begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. The Florida Supreme Court does not certify arbitrators. You will receive a certificate of completion which you can submit to the chief judge in each judicial circuit in which you want to offer your services or be placed on their list of approved arbitrators. Court-appointed arbitrators are required to adhere to the Florida Rules for Court-Appointed Arbitrators. To register for the arbitration training program, click on the online registration tab.
Supreme Court Certified Appellate Mediator Training Program -
February 27, 2021
You do NOT need to be an attorney to be an appellate court mediator. The appellate mediation training program is a 7 hour course. For initial certification as a mediator of appellate matters, an applicant must be a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit, family or dependency mediator and successfully complete a Florida Supreme Court certified appellate mediation training program. There are NO role play exercises during the appellate mediator training program and NO mentoring requirements following training. This course is approved for Continuing Mediator Education (CME) in all categories.

Eric Dunlap is a certified Circuit Civil and County court mediator, an appellate mediator for Florida's Fifth District Court of Appeals, and a federal court mediator for the U.S. Middle District of Florida. Mr. Dunlap obtained his law degree from Cumberland School of Law in 1991, his Masters in Business Administration from Samford University in 1991, and his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida in 1988. Mr. Dunlap also serves on the Mediator Qualifications Board Central Division, serves on the Mediator Qualifications Complaint Committee, serves on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Rules and Policy Committee, and has been named one of Orlando's Top Lawyers in editions of Orlando Home and Leisure magazine since 2010.

In addition to serving as a mediator, Mr. Dunlap serves as an adjunct professor at Barry University School of Law in Orlando, Florida where he teaches Mediation Theory and County Court Mediator Certification courses to students enrolled at the law school. As a Primary Trainer for Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil, County, and Appellate Mediation Training programs, Mr. Dunlap offers appellate, circuit civil and county court mediator certification training sessions to the public.
